EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: BS/BA degree in or related field required.
Must have 4 years experience with ERP/MRP system and a minimum of 3 years experience in planning/materials handling

LANGUAGE ABILITY: Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

MATH ABILITY: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages. Able to display data variances using sigma and standard deviation logic to identify problem area and drive solutions.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Uses professional concepts, applies company policies and procedures to resolve issues. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Has technical manufacturing background with use of complex assemblies. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. APICS knowledge, a plus

COMPUTER SKILLS: Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: CPIM certification, a plus

EQUIPMENT AND DEVICE OPERATION: No special equipment required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is in an office setting in an open factory environment. On the factory floor the temperature fluctuates relative to the outdoor weather do to large roll up doors in constant use. There is some excessive noise on the production floor. The immediate work area has no caustic chemicals or fumes. Some travel may be required.

While performing their duties, 25% of the job is performed while standing and 75% while sitting. May be required to stoop, kneel, crouch and reach above shoulder height. Unassisted lifting may be required up to 35 pounds.

Duties: ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintains work orders as the system dictates to meet the volatile and complex production schedule.
Able to understand current and future capacity constrains and communicate adjustments to the Master Planner/Manufacturing floor to align resources to alleviate capacity constraints.
Initiates and coordinates material availability reports based on production work orders through Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production, Inspection, and Shipping.
Communicates and reports on status of material as they relate to sales order requirements.
Establishes the flow of materials through selected departments by establishing routings in MRP system.
Facilitates shortage notification and creates preventative root cause analysis
Attends, represents, and contributes at daily shipment meeting.
Prepares feedback to Purchasing to ensure that materials needed are on order and delivery dates match productions needs.
Creates reports to management concerning status of current material levels.
Reviews closing of completed work orders and interfaces with accounting and production planning on variances. Also ensures that there are no negative inventory issues.
Reviews engineering changes and follows instructions provided.
Signs off on all material request for non-production use.
Creates and maintains department metrics based off company/organizational goals.
Must adhere to and support the companys Safety Health & Environmental (SHE) program
All other duties as assigned
